We travel to Stagville
Game 7: (6-1-0)
vs. Bishop Miege at Bishop Miege (2-0)
The Stags are so good right up the middle of the field. When you can put a quality player, up top, at center midfield, and in the center of the back, you are going to have a pretty darn good team. And Miege can do that.
They did an excellent job of limiting our opportunities; we had 4 shots on frame all night, and two of those were goals. We did miss a couple of easy ones, but we had been averaging 3 times that many shots on goal. So the Stags did a nice job of cramping our attack.
I don't believe they got a shot on goal, but they did get into a scoring position 2-3 times during the match. Nick Garcia and Mitchel Farrar shut down a lot of things from the backline.
We lost Jacob Muckerman for most of the match, so Nick's role was extremely important tonight. BWhite named him the Man of the Match. Check out the interview!
We also got big minutes from Mark Mason and Gabe Garcia as we pushed Zayveon forward to try to create a little more attack in the second half.
The game-winning goal came early on with another nice Bryson cross, an inverted t-ball, after a back pass from Pope that DJ finished quickly.
And then Welch capped things off in the second half with his deadball bender he has been working on with Juan that clipped the end of the wall before screaming into the goal—two pretty nice goals.
We will be right back at it Thursday with a match at Park Hill South.
