EKL Battle at Saint Thomas Aquinas

Game 14: (8-3-3)
15 October vs Blue Valley West at Saint Thomas Aquinas (0-2)

After so many minutes of almost flawless defense, we had the wheels come off about 13 into the second half when first we duck to allow Diggs to get the ball but the ball lands on our player's back to pop down to the turf to donate a goal, and then later in the half, we make contact with a Jag player in the box for a PK. It would be hard to find too many legit opportunities other than those two. They had a couple, one going wide and one nicely saved by Carter.

But, we are obviously going to slip every once in awhile defensively, so we must start scoring some goals.

Morrisette had a fine game, slotting a perfect t-ball that we failed to finish. He also took a beautiful one-touch ball from Liam that put him one-v-one with the keeper. His near-post missile got saved out of bounds for another corner.

Caden also slotted a t-ball for a perfect set-up. So we did show some offensive promise tonight.

And, of course, we were missing both Farrar and Welch. That’s a lot of talent we had to try to replace.

Hats off to Konnesky for his game at the 6. He played very well. BWhite named Luke, Caden, and Arquez as our Men of the Match!  Here

We did get a bonus HALO broadcast. It’s was brilliant once again. I talked to several fans who really enjoy the commentary from Palazuelos and La Bella. La Bella pointed out our tentativeness on the first goal, and once again he was spot on. If you have not watched the broadcast, it will continue to be available on the HALO YouTube site.

We have a week left in the regular season. Time flies. West should be in the hunt for the 6A state title.
